Gone Tommorrow by Lee Child

Susan Mark blows her head off on a subway in New york. This is very unusual suicide case due to the manner, place and method of the suicide. Jack Reacher witnessed the suicide. Reacher realises that there is more than meets the eye. He sets out  investigate the matter but he finds himself entangled in a web of lies and deceit. His own life is even in danger and he needs to survive and at the same time unravel the truth.

Lee Child shows in "Gone Tommorrow" that he is a master storyteller. The plot is excellent, full of suspense and very educative. It seems that Lee Child does not only entertain  but educate on a wide range of topics including counter espionage, military tactics etc.

Child is straight to the point  and succeeds in entertaining the reader throughout the novel. The personality and character of Reacher is quite novel. Unlike other investigators  he is not supported by the system. He is practically operating outside the system. Reacher is ex military  but he is neither CIA nor FBI. He has not been recruited by the government to do what he does. He proves resourceful   and climbs many hurdles in his quest to get to the truth.
