“The Timothy Files” by Lawrence Sanders

“The Timothy Files” is a novel by Lawrence Sanders. Timothy Cone mourns the death of his colleague G. Edward Griffon who died at a subway station.  He is of the conviction that his death is not accidental or suicide but murder.  Griffon is an investigator just like Cone.  Cone believes that he was targeted and eliminated as a result of a case he is investigating.

Timothy Cone puts all his energy into the case to unravel the circumstances leading to Griffon’s death. His investigations help to uncover some of the worst criminals in the corporate world. The murderous thugs masquerading as businessmen and women will stop at nothing to get what they want. Their Ruthlessness puts anyone attempting to expose them at risk just like Griffon.

“The Timothy Files” is well written. It is full of suspense and very thrilling.  Sanders mimics reality.  The characters just like ordinary people have their vices and strengths.

This novel should not be read on an empty stomach. The characters are always eating especially the main Character Timothy Cone. If you want to quit smoking then this novel is not for you. This is because the characters are always smoking enjoyably.

The crimes committed by the various companies are not connected. As a matter of fact the latter companies Cone investigates had nothing to do with Griffon’s murder. However, in the beginning of the novel you get impression that all the efforts of Cone throughout will be solely dedicated to uncovering his colleague’s murderers or the mystery surrounding his death.

It is certainly a great read. The literary license of Sanders is unquestionable. He writes beautifully and he is able to hold the reader’s attention and coupled with the thrilling plot makes “The Timothy Files”is unputdownable. Lawrence Sanders deserves to be called America Mr Bestseller. His writing will keep you hooked like nicotine.  You will definitely want to read all the other novels written by
him.
